Storyline

The action of this performance revolves around a lonely Russian language teacher Nadezhda Alexandrovna, who, as they say, put an end to herself. Groomed, with very low self-esteem, she alone raised her daughter with the strange name Loliluta for 25 years. Loliluta's father and Nadia's husband died on their wedding day, falling into a manhole on the way from the registry office - staring at the miniskirt of an unfamiliar girl. However, Nadezhda does not tell her daughter the truth about her father, passing him off as a hero pilot who died in the war, holding a huge portrait of him on the wall and celebrating every anniversary of a "possible life together" with a feast with a military uniform thrown over the back of a chair.

Loliluta says she works as an escort, however, Nadezhda Alexandrovna does not believe that her daughter is telling the truth and onlyaccompanies we althy clients to events, restaurants or theatres, calling her a prostitute without hesitation.

The plot occurs at the moment when Nadia's daughter falls ill. She is going to go to work, even despite the high temperature, but Nadezhda Alexandrovna manages to leave her at home. Dressed in an unusual emerald-colored evening dress, the woman herself goes to the challenge intended for her daughter.

Arriving at the place, Nadya finds the client - Yegor Ivanovich - bound on a chair. She is taken by surprise by Tomochka, Yegor's wife, dressed in a Japanese kimono and holding a samurai sword at the ready. But bloodshed does not occur - women suddenly find a common language over glasses of sake. After talking, Nadezhda Aleksandrovna and Tomochka realize that they have much more in common than it might seem at first. An excerpt from this comedic scene can be seen below.

After that, Tomochka and Yegor Ivanovich are visiting Nadezhda Alexandrovna. And here - a new surprise, the father of Loliluta and the failed husband of Nadia returned. He is dressed in a military uniform and appears shell-shocked, alternating bouts of sudden sleep with his face in a saucepan with bouts of aggressive speech, more like a rally. Looking at him, Tomochka and Yegor Ivanovich realize how lucky they are with each other, and, reconciled, leave in a lyrical mood. Then Loliluta reveals a secret - in fact, her colleague Andrei pretended to be the father. Nadezhda Alexandrovna finally tells her daughter the whole truth about her father. Women embrace and accept each other for who they are. Lolilutaleaves, and Nadia, who believes in herself and her feminine strength, takes her daughter's next order by phone and goes to meet with the president.

All the actors of the play "My Darling" are well-known television figures, and therefore will be familiar even to those viewers who do not often attend theatrical performances. The main role in the production, namely the comical and touching teacher Nadezhda Alexandrovna, was played by Olesya Zheleznyak, best known for her role as Zoya Misochkina in the film "Silver Lily of the Valley", and also familiar to viewers from the series "My Fair Nanny" and "Matchmakers".

The second actress, for which most people go to this performance, is the People's Artist of Russia Tatyana Kravchenko, who, in addition to a huge number of theater and film roles, is familiar to the audience from the same series "Matchmakers".

The well-known actor Andrei Leonov, the son of the great Yevgeny Leonov, brilliantly coped with his role as Yegor Ivanovich. Viewers are well acquainted with his image of a father with many children in the series "Daddy's Daughters".

The least familiar to the average viewer will be the performer of the role of Loliluta Daria Mikhailichenko - this is because she rarely appears on television, preferring the theater stage.

Together with Olesya Zheleznyak in the play "My Darling" her husband, Spartak Sumchenko, plays the role of Andrei, pretending to be the husband of Nadezhda Alexandrovna. In the second cast, the role of Andrei is played by actor Andrei Butin, also known to the audience for his small but memorable roles in the series "My Fair Nanny" and "Daddy's Daughters".

Critic Opinion

Reviews about the play "My Darling" from critics turned out to be quite restrained. They called the performance an excellent example of a non-repertory production, mentioning light humor, a brilliant play of all the actors in a comedic sense, and the absence of superfluous or unrevealed characters among the strengths. Critics called the script itself, according to which the production was made, a big minus. They agreed that the plot itself was weak and that many of the barely marked plot lines sagged noticeably towards the end. At the same time, critics noted that all the humorous dialogues were written perfectly, and if the viewer wants to "not bother with the plot" and just spend time laughing heartily, "My Darling" will be a worthy option.

Positive feedback from viewers

Olesya Zheleznyak's performance is most often mentioned in reviews of the play "My Darling". The audience writes that the actress, whose comedic talent they knew firsthand, in this production also revealed herself from the tragicomedic side, showing brilliant opportunities not only to make laugh, but also to take it to the quick. A lot of good things were also written about the performance of the rest of the actors, highlighting, of course, the performance of Tatyana Kravchenko, the famous master of the humorous episode.

Highly appreciated, judging by the reviews, the play "My dear" even those viewerswho rarely visit the theater at all - they wrote that they had a very pleasant time, not leaving a single comical line of characters without laughter.

Most viewers are strongly advised to visit this production if given the opportunity. They write that they watched "My Darling" with pleasure more than once, always resting their souls, relaxing, laughing heartily.

Backlash

However, there are also negative reviews of the audience about the play "My Darling". Like the critics, the remaining dissatisfied viewers mostly complain not about the actors or the director, but about the chosen plot itself. Someone found the production obscene, someone too naive, and someone unfinished and "raw".

It was not possible to find negative reviews about the play "My Darling", aimed at the acting of the actors. Many wrote that the play that did not convince them enough was just "pulled out" by their favorite artists.

Some complaints from the audience were directed towards the organizers. For example, some parents were outraged by 12+ censorship, believing that in a performance where there are hints of prostitution and infidelity, there is absolutely nothing for children under 16 to do. And in one of the cities, the audience who attended the tour performances were dissatisfied with the fact that Tomochka was not performed by Tatyana Kravchenko, and the organizers did not consider it necessary to notify about the replacement of actresses.
